My story
About me
My name is Faye as a little girl my uncle Pete nicknamed me Bootsy as I was always wearing red wellington boots.
I was born in the South of England and moved with my husband Peter to New Zealand in 2010. For 15 years we lived in Hunua near Papakura but have recently moved to near Whangarei where we live with our 7 cats, 2 kune kune pigs & 3 chickens. I have always shared my life with animals and they are often the inspiration for my artwork.
My Inspiration
My art is inspired by the beautiful animals I share my life with.
My cats, horses and kune kune pigs are regular models for my work.
I love to try and catch their character in the picture.
My Process
First I sketch out in pencil. Then I trnasfer the basic outline onto the pastel paper. Next I decide on a background and using pan pastels fill it in. Then I begin on the subject building up the layers of pastels using pastel pencils.
